In 1997 the owners of Arie Rustenburg & Zn decided to begin with backward chain integration by doing a part of cultivation by them self. Since then, they are mainly dedicated to the cultivation of carrots and cabbage. The fertile ground of Opperdoes (known from the ‘Opperdoezer Ronde’), also for cultivation, now has an area of quite a few hectares.
